Newsworth & Not's Mission Statement

Here's what I hope to accomplish with my first-ever blog:

-- I'll post to criticize and advise when I see a story over-covered, under-covered, or overblown by the so-called "mainstream media" (and I mean you too Hannity and Scarborough).

-- I'll even post to blow off steam about decisions I disagree with made by my own superiors and co-workers, and second-guess the hell out of them.

-- I'll post to point out dynamite work I see from my fellow journalists. (It happens.)

-- I'll post to defend my media from the volley of attacks from big-time critics (editors, commentators) and small-time critics (bloggers, and letter-to-editor writers) who are too uninformed about the job to complain about it. (Hint: there is no left-wing bias.)

-- And, I'll post links to stories I find (good, bad, funny, sad) that I think everybody should see.

(-- I'll also post random crap from time to time.)

I hope you enjoy. Heck, I hope I enjoy it enough to keep it up-to-date. Expect my first "real" post.. sometime. Well, maybe you shouldn't expect it, but rather hope for it. My goal is the weekend.
